We can hereby confirm that our office is currently investigating on behalf of a group of stakeholders whether, among other things, the regulations announced by Minister Vandenbroucke, in particular the introduction of a legal obligation to vaccination in the healthcare sector, is compatible with the fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Belgian Constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights.
Depending on the outcome of this investigation, we may advise legal action to challenge the mandatory nature of such vaccination before the competent Belgian courts.
Our office does not take any political positions for or against vaccination, but merely limits itself to a legal analysis of the issue at hand.
