Heleen Van Cauwenberge obtained her Master of Laws from Ghent University in 2018 (magna cum laude). She then completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law and Dispute Resolution at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. (Dean’s List).

During her studies, she participated in the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court in Hong Kong and interned at the Mediation Office of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington D.C.

Mr. Van Cauwenberge began her career as a lawyer in 2019 in the dispute resolution and litigation department of Eubelius, where she assisted clients from various sectors in complex contractual and non-contractual disputes. In addition to proceedings before national courts, she has extensive experience in (international) arbitration. In 2024, she completed a secondment with the litigation practice of the international law firm Houthoff in Amsterdam.

From 2019 to 2023, she also served as a teaching assistant at KU Leuven. In addition, she regularly publishes on topics related to her field of practice.

Driven by a strong sense of justice and deep social engagement, she joined the criminal and human rights division of VS Advocaten in early 2025.
