Disciplinary law

Various professional groups have their own disciplinary procedures and rules. In doing so, no professional judges but lay judges belonging to the same professional group as the person being disciplined (or belonging to the supervising authority) sit on the competent disciplinary body.

Since the consequences of such proceedings and a possible disciplinary penalty can be significant for the reputation and career of the person concerned, a result-oriented defence with particular attention to his/her (procedural) rights is of great importance.

VSA has experience in disciplinary proceedings of doctors, teachers, police officers, lawyers, bailiffs and notaries, among others.

Because disciplinary proceedings often accompany or are an offshoot of criminal investigations, VSA's experience with and understanding of criminal (procedural) law is certainly an asset.
